Supporting scientific research and expanding access to STEM education are central to Syngene’s efforts to strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem and build future scientific talent.
Through the Syngene Research In Science Excellence (SynRISE) program at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB), three women received PhD fellowships during FY26. The program supports advanced scientific research while promoting greater gender inclusion in STEM disciplines.
In partnership with the Research and Innovation Circle of Hyderabad (RICH) and the Hyderabad Science and Technology Cluster, Syngene supports women from Tier II and Tier III cities pursuing higher education in STEM fields through scholarships, mentorship, and industry orientation. During FY26, 40 scholars, comprising 20 undergraduate and 20 postgraduate students, received support through the program.
Syngene instituted the Early Career Research Grant program to support promising junior faculty engaged in life sciences research at Indian universities and research institutes. The program encourages independent scientific inquiry and supports innovative work in areas including novel technologies, translational research, biomarkers, assays, disease models, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in discovery and development.
Biocon Academy, a CSR initiative of the Biocon Group, bridges the gap between academic learning and industry requirements in the life sciences sector through specialized, application-oriented training. Its unique five-pillar learning model aligns academic education with industry expectations, enhances employability, and supports the development of a skilled talent pool for India’s biotechnology and healthcare industries.
